Renaissance masters like Michelangelo and Leonardo may come to mind when discussing Italian art. The beginning of the Venetian Plaster art form can be traced back to ancient Rome, where the craft of plastering reached new heights with the introduction of multi-layered plastering.

Even in contemporary times, the Venetian Plaster craftsman will utilise techniques that have remained relatively unchanged for centuries. These techniques remain unsurpassed in the resulting finish, hence becoming a key interest of modern architects and interior designers who use the finish to provide a unique feel to both homes and commercial spaces.

These unique finishes combine texture, colour and light to create natural, rich spaces. Using a method that involves building up a surface with multiple coats of plaster and then burnishing and polishing it to achieve an agate-like sheen.
